William “Bill” C. Jennings

Had a Passion for Traveling -

William “Bill” C. Jennings, age 72, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Lebanon, left us unexpectedly at Hershey Medical Center on Wednesday, March 15, 2017.  Bill was born in Camden, NJ, to the late James Jennings and Ethel (Duffy) Jennings.  In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his brother, James Jennings.

Bill’s survivors include his loving wife of 27 years, Tamara (Dye) Jennings; children: Tracy and her husband David; Kristina and her husband, Keith; William; grandchildren, Dylan, Joshua, Jack, Ella Grace, Marley and Miles; and his sister, Eleanor Shifflet.

Bill graduated from Lebanon Catholic High School Class of 1962.  Following his graduation, Bill joined the United States Air Force.  He retired from D&H Distribution in Harrisburg after thirty-three years as a credit manager, and from Morgan Stanley in Camp Hill after five years as a financial advisor.

Bill was a member of the Lower Allen VFW Post 7530, American Legion Post 26 in Dillsburg, Enola Sportsman Club, and the Mechanicsburg Club.  He loved to fish, golf, and follow his grandchildren’s sporting events, especially swimming.  Every year, Bill looked forward to attending his wife’s annual family reunion, but his true passion was traveling with his wife.  The two had a lot of good times together, which often included taking cruises.  Bill was most proud of the fact that he had the opportunity to travel on the “Orient Express”, which was an item on his bucket list.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Lebanon Country Club, 3375 Oak Street, Lebanon, PA 17042.

Contributions in celebration of Bill’s life can be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 897, Hershey, PA 17033, www.Cancer.org.

Bill and I were in scouting together (cub, boy, explorer). We also joined the Air Force together...I remember the good times, the playground dances, the Dixie, crusing Cumberland street and all the fun at Tom Hartman's house...I was fortunate to spend time sightseeing and dinner with Bill and Tammy when their cruise ship docked in San Diego two years ago...we had a great time laughing and reminiscing...

Tammy, you Bill and your family are in our prayers...God Bless...
