Terry Aileen (Panza) Schneider

Loving Mother, Grammy, Sister, Daughter, & Friend -

Terry Aileen (Panza) Schneider, age 68, of Mechanicsburg, went home peacefully while being comforted by her loving family on Monday, March 27, 2017.  Terry was born on Saturday, February 12, 1949 in Mechanicsburg to the late Michael Alfred Panza and Charlotte Ann (Vogelsong) Panza.  In addition to her parents, Terry is preceded in death by her brother, Leonard Alan Panza, who passed away in 1974.

Terry’s survivors include her three children, Kimberly Smith and her husband, Jeffrey, and their children: Gavin and Aiden of Falls Church, VA, Kristy Weldon and her husband, Matt and their children: Kayla and Emma of Enola, PA, Bryan Schneider and his wife, Angie, and their children: Charlotte and her soon-to-be baby brother, of St. Petersburg, FL; her two sisters: Patricia Nicholson and her husband, Jim, of Concord, NC, Debra Hartman and her husband, Michael, of Mechanicsburg, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

Terry graduated from Cumberland Valley High School as part of the class of 1967.  She retired from the Mechanicsburg School District on June 28, 2013.  Terry was a lifelong and very active member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mechanicsburg, where she served on the altar guild, property committee, church council, and the hand bell choir, which she did in memory of her mother.  Terry was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.  Guided by her strong faith in God, Terry was a caring, loving, kind, and compassionate person who always put others before herself.  She was an amazing cook and loved having the family all together.  Wherever Terry was, there was never a lack of love, laughter, or food.  Her home was one of love, warmth, and comfort.  Terry loved her family dearly and had a special place in her heart for each of her children and grandchildren.  She will be dearly missed by the countless lives she touched.

All are welcome to join Terry’s family at the memorial service on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at 10:15 a.m. at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 132 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Reverend Dr. Karen Durbin officiating.  Terry’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food, fellowship, and greeting of guests at her church following the service.  Interment will follow in Chestnut Hill Cemetery in Mechanicsburg.  Honored to be the urn bearers are her grandchildren and Bryan Schneider.  Cremation was private.

Contributions in celebration of Terry’s life can be made to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110, www.HospiceOfCentralPA.org, or Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 132 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.

A beautiful smile has left us but we will all remember her in our hearts.

I was very sad to hear of Terry's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with her entire family and friends. Terry and I were friends in High School and class of '67. We were always together during some classes and especially marching band. I was not all that thrilled to be in the band but her friendship really helped and we had a great time. While we did not see each other often since graduation I always considered her a great friend and knew her to be a loving and kind person. I am sure she will be missed greatly. Thoughts and prayers, Karl

Kim, Kristy, Brian, Pat & Deb,

We are so sorry for your loss. I will remember Terry as always being a caring, fun, smiling cousin. And what a laugh! Growing up I remember the Friday evenings in the living room playing games or watching TV while our parents played cards in the kitchen at their house. Family reunions, picnics, and the trip to Rockford Fly In are all great memories. Know that she brought sunshine into other's lives. She will be greatly missed by all.

Dearest Pat & Deb,

I was with mom the day Flossie Sultzaburger called her to let her know about Terry's illness and passing. Stunned...totally blown away were we by this horrible news. We were unable to attend the services but had you and the family in thought and prayer. Mom and I would run in to Terry from time to time and always enjoyed catching up on the family and how all were doing. God carry your family which was the root of Terry's love and affections always.

Sincerely, Gay Miller-Fitzgerald and Mary Louise Miller
