Patricia “Pat” Ann (O’Keefe) Bowes

Tie Dye & Coca-Cola -

Patricia “Pat” Ann (O’Keefe) Bowes, age 67, of Marysville, died unexpectedly at home on Saturday, April 8, 2017.  Pat was born on Tuesday, March 14, 1950 in Harrisburg to the late Joseph William O’Keefe and Mary (Snavely) O’Keefe.  In addition to her parents, Pat is preceded in death by her beloved dog, Max.

Pat’s survivors include her two children: Maureen Sholtis, Ronald Patrick O’Keefe; her two grandsons: Brandon Sholtis, Charles Wesesky; her great-granddaughter: Kylie Cryder; and her four siblings: Mary Frances O’Keefe, Sue O’Keefe, Joseph O’Keefe, Bryan O’Keefe; her oldest and dearest friend, Mary Kay Stambaugh Switzer; and several nieces and nephews.

Pat graduated from Bishop McDevitt High School in Harrisburg as part of the class of 1968.  She retired from Pinnacle Health in 2016 after having worked as a PCA Monitor Tech in both Polyclinic and Harrisburg Hospitals.  Pat was a free spirit who thrived on the outrageous.  An extrovert by nature, she was always happy and laid back.  Some of her signature characteristics were her love of tie dye, Coca-Cola, lobster and crab, roller coasters, traveling, and Middleswarth Potato Chips.  More than all of these, Pat loved and cherished her grandchildren.  When those who knew and loved Pat remember her they will recall two of her favorite sayings.

“Growing old is mandatory but growing up is optional”

“Only the good die young, so I am going to live forever.”

All are welcome to join Pat’s family at her gathering of family and friends on Monday, April 17, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. when a closing ceremony will be held all at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.  Cremation was private.

Contributions in celebration of Pat’s life can be made to the charity of the donor’s choosing.

I wish to extend my sympathy to Pat's family and friends
I had wanted to do so in person but the timing of the services conflicts with my family gathering to celebrate Easter tomorrow. Pat was a McDevitt classmate and we had visited her a few times at her house along with other classmates. Some very fond memories
Rest in peace Pat

Remembering when my family moved next door to yours. My family became good friends with yours, Dollie and Ed, and Miss Shireman and Miss Dugan. We all became friends and friends are hard to find. Rest in peace Patty.
