Alice Catherine (Timlin) Swavola
Loving Mother, Grandmother, & Great-Grandmother -
Alice Catherine (Timlin) Swavola, age 90, of Mechanicsburg, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 22, 2018. Alice was born on Friday, May 25, 1928 in Scranton to the late Anthony Timlin and Delia (O’Malley) Timlin. Alice was the widow of Edwin “Ed” Frank Swavola, who died on February 7, 1985. In addition to her parents and husband, Alice is preceded in death by her daughter, Lynne Alice Swavola; and her nine siblings.
Alice’s survivors include her two sons: Robert “Bob” Swavola of Mechanicsburg, Scott Swavola of Mechanicsburg; her granddaughter, Katherine “Katie” Swavola of Carlisle; her two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Alice was a member of Young’s United Methodist Church and a longtime member of St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening and ceramics. However, Alice most loved to play games such as Scrabble and Pinochle. She cherished the time spent with family and looked forward to going to their summer home at the Juniata River.
All are welcome to join Alice’s family at her viewing on Tuesday, August 28, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Reverend George A. Spangler officiating. Burial in Mechanicsburg Cemetery will be private and at the convenience of the family.
