Daniel “Dan” Charles Flood, Jr., age 80, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Philadelphia, passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2018. Dan was born on Thursday, November 18, 1937 in Philadelphia to the late Daniel Charles Flood, Sr. and Mildred Philis (Ould) Flood. In addition to his parents, Dan is preceded in death by his brother.
Dan’s survivors include his wife of 36 years, Yong Hui (Yu) Flood; his four daughters: Lori Ann Flood of South Dakota, Roseann Marie Flood of Colorado, Dianna Rose Nicholes of Arizona; Tina Marie Flood of New Hampshire; his grandchildren; his great-grandchildren; his half-sister: Susan Vacca and her significant other, Will Modica, of Philadelphia; and several nieces and nephews.
Dan graduated from Olney High School as part of the class of 1960. He retired from the United States Army, after 24 years of service in countries such as Germany and Korea. Dan also proudly served in the Vietnam War. After his retirement, Dan worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue. He was a member of the Lower Allen VFW Post 7530 in Mechanicsburg. He enjoyed computers and programing, watching western movies, and fishing.
All are welcome to join Dan’s family at his viewing on Wednesday, October 31, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Kahn Kun Shik Pedro officiating. Military honors will be presented by the Cumberland County Honor Guard following the service. Scattering will be at the family’s convenience. Cremation was private.
