Jeanne Elizabeth (Brice) Marshall

I Love You with All My Heart -

Jeanne Elizabeth (Brice) Marshall, age 96, of Mechanicsburg, peacefully passed away at home and with her family by her side on Wednesday, May 30, 2018.  Jeanne was born on Monday, May 23, 1922 in Harrisburg to the late Frank Brice and Verna Beatrice (Stone) Brice.  Jeanne was the widow of George Edwin Marshall, Jr., whom she married on December 21, 1945, and who died on February 2, 2002.  In addition to her parents and husband, Jeanne is preceded in death by her two sons: Richard “Butchie” Marshall and Terrence Marshall; her great granddaughter, Annabelle Leysen; her two brothers: Frank “Jack” Brice, and Elmer Brice.

Jeanne’s survivors include her son, George E. Marshall, III and his wife, Jennifer, of Honey Grove; her two daughters: Joanne Brown and her husband, Keith, of Newville, Mindy Merlina and her husband, Christopher, of New Oxford; her 12 grandchildren; her 17 great grandchildren; her brother, William Brice and his wife, Janet, of Dillsburg; her sister, Ellen Rose and her husband, Charles, of Dover; and her many nieces and nephews.

Jeanne graduated from Mechanicsburg High School as part of the class of 1941 and she was a life-long member of the Lutheran Faith.  She was an amazingly resilient woman who handled life’s hardships with grace and strength while remaining happy, gentle and encouraging of others.  Jeanne and her late husband, George, built their own house and even ran a home based business lovingly known as “The Geranium House” which they also built.  In their later years, they lived part-time in Florida and always enjoyed camping and boating.  Jeanne was a book-a-day reader who loved visiting the library.  She never missed an episode of Dancing with the Stars and she loved to watch the hummingbirds at her feeders.  Those who know Jeanne will smile when they think of her collection of anything hummingbird.  The most important thing in Jeanne’s life was her family and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she loved deeply.  They will always remember her voice saying, “I Love You with All My Heart.”
