Marilou (Parry) Spaeth
A Devoted Wife & Mother -
Marilou (Parry) Spaeth, age 77, of Mechanicsburg & Stone Harbor, NJ, passed away on Monday, July 9, 2018. Marilou was born on Friday, March 28, 1941 in Philadelphia to the late George Thomas Parry, Sr. and Marietta (Loose) Parry.
Marilou’s survivors include her Husband of nearly 58 years, William E. Spaeth, Sr of Mechanicsburg, PA & Stone Harbor, NJ; her two Children: Gretchen S. Poliero (her husband, C. John Poliero, Jr. of Haddonfield, NJ) & William E. Spaeth, Jr. of Brookhaven, GA; her three Grandchildren: Jeffrey J. Poliero, Lauren E. Poliero, Charlotte A. Spaeth; her Brother, G. Thomas Parry, Jr. and his Wife, Virginia “Ginny”; and several Nieces and Nephews.
Marilou attended Friends Select High School on a full scholarship, graduating in 1958. She was a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Cathedral in Harrisburg and a summer member of St. Mary’s Church in Stone Harbor, NJ. Marilou was a very devoted Wife and Mother who was most happy when her whole Family was together. She treasured her Children and the time they spent together. It was always a celebration when the Family united for the holidays in Stone Harbor, highlighted by local events including The Festival of Lights and Thanksgiving Day Parade. Marilou enjoyed water aerobics at The Joseph Von Savage Memorial Pool in Wildwood Crest, NJ, often eating lunch with other ladies after sessions. She never missed a Philadelphia Eagles or Phillies game on television and was always thrilled when the team won. Without fail, Marilou attended every athletic event in which one of her Children was competing during both high school and college. She embraced her friendships as a participant in a monthly Bridge Group in Mechanicsburg, PA.
All are welcome to join Marilou’s Family at her gathering of Family and Friends on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, from 10:30 a.m. until time of service at 11:30 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Cathedral, 221 North Front Street, Harrisburg, PA 17101; with The Very Reverend Amy D. Welin officiating. Parking is available in the River St. Garage, which can be entered from 2nd Street. Present your parking ticket to any funeral attendant for complimentary exit from the garage. Burial will follow in Mechanicsburg Cemetery. Honored to be pallbearers are: David G. Parry, Michael D. Parry, Stephen T. Parry, C. John Poliero, Jeffrey J. Poliero, and William E. Spaeth, Jr.
