Alan Christopher Steuart, 40, of Blain , died as the result of an automobile accident on Wednesday, July 4, 2012. He was born in Corry, PA, on Wednesday, March 22, 1972, the son of Douglas K. Steuart and Harriet (Hotchkiss) Steuart both of whom survive him.
Alan attended school in Corry, PA, and graduated in 1991 from Burlington County Vo-Tech High School, Burlington, NJ . He was an employee of Mussie Tilahun Trucking in Harrisburg. He loved and adored his daughter, Ashley. Alan was at home in the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, kayaking the local rivers, camping, and especially walking the Appalachian Trail. Alan also loved to walk with his dogs.
Alan’s survivors include his loving daughter, Ashley Elaine Barker of Mechanicsburg; his parents, Douglas and Harriet Steuart of Mechanicsburg; his sister, Amy Armstrong and her husband Kevin of New Cumberland; a brother, Andrew Steuart and his wife Janet of Ruther Glen, VA; and several nieces and nephews.
All are welcome to join Alan’s family at his viewing on Thursday, July 12 from 6:00 to 8:00, at Myers–Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. Services and cremation will be private and at the convenience of the family.
