Alice (Money) Crouse, 83, of Mechanicsburg died at Bethany Village on Monday, February 13, 2012. She was born in Louisville, KY on Wednesday, June 24, 1928 the daughter of the late Arle and Marietta (Shafar) Money. Alice was the wife of William E. Crouse who she married on February 1, 1969.

Alice graduated as the valedictorian from Taylorsville High School as part of the class of 1946 and from the University of Louisville with both a BS and MS in Business Education. She retired from the Commonwealth of PA, Department of Aging, and taught high school business education in Syracuse, NY and Lancaster, PA. Alice was a member of St. Paul’s UCC in Mechanicsburg where she served on the Called to Care team. She attended the adult bible study faithfully every Sunday. Alice loved square dancing and golfing with her husband and they visited Elder Hostels in over 25 Universities along the East Coast. Alice was an avid fan of both the University of Kentucky Wildcats and the Philadelphia Phillies.

Alice’s survivors include her loving husband of 43 years: William E. Crouse; three nephews: Robert Coots and his wife Sonny, Mike Hardesty, Mark Hardesty; and a dear friend: Martha Keith. Among those preceding her in death are her two sisters: Jean Coots and Jane Hardesty.

All are welcome to join Alice’s family at a Gathering of Family and Friends on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 10:00 until the time of service at 11:00 at St. Paul’s UCC in Mechanicsburg with Reverend John J. Ward-Diorio officiating. Alice’s cremated remains will be interred in her Church’s Columbarium. Alice’s family invites everyone to join them for a Time of Food and Fellowship at St. Paul’s UCC following the interment.
