Angelo was born on Tuesday, May 11, 1937, in Old Forge to the late William Zambetti and Antonetta (Pignatelli) Zambetti. Angelo was the widower of Geraldine "Gerri" Mary (Maninski) Zambetti, whom he married on July 8, 1961, and who died on April 26, 2005.

Angelo graduated from Old Forge High School as part of the class of 1954. After high school, Angelo proudly served his country by enlisting in the U.S. Navy. Following his discharge from the military, he attended Penn State University, where he graduated in 1962 with an Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
After college, he moved to Maryland to accept a position with the National Security Agency. After more than 33 years of service, Angelo retired to enjoy talking care of his yard, attend his grandsons baseball and soccer games along with spending time with his family and friends.
