Ann Almoney

Ann Iva (Mygrant) Almoney, age 85, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Cordele, GA, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2024.  Ann was born on Sunday, January 1, 1939, in Cordele, GA to the late Edgar Mygrant and Veora Mygrant.  Ann was the widow of Craig Edward Almoney, whom she married on December 17, 1966, and who passed away on October 24, 2019.  In addition to her parents and husband, Ann is preceded in death by her brother, Kenny Mygrant.

Ann’s survivors include her son, Kent Edward Almoney of Hagerstown, MD; her two grandchildren: Conor Almoney and Owen Almoney; and her two sisters: Linda Parrish and Kam Gilmore.

She graduated from Cordele High School in 1957 and Georgia Southern University in 1961. She worked for the Social Security Administration for over 32 years before retiring. She was a member of Country and Town Baptist church since 1973.

She will be dearly missed by those that were fortunate enough to have known her.

All are welcome to join Ann’s family at her celebration of life open house on Saturday, February 17, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a time of remembrance at 12:45 p.m. at Buhrig’s Gathering Place, 25 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, (717) 766-3421 (next to Buhrig Funeral & Cremation); with Pastor Phillip Cockrell officiating.  Over 100 parking spaces are available; just look for the “Buhrig” parking signs in all of the parking lots.  Burial will be held privately by the family at a later date in Mount Zion Cemetery in York.
