In Loving Memory of Anne M. Cupko

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Anne M. Cupko on Sunday evening, July 27th 2025, at Celebration Villas in Dillsburg.

Born on December 23, 1931 in Johnstown, Cambria County, Pennsylvania, Anne was the daughter of the late Vitus and Catherine (Kozar) Roseman.

Anne dedicated her career to public service and administrative excellence, retiring in July 1996 from the Office of Inspector General, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. During her tenure, she provided critical administrative support in the Area Office, focusing on matters related to Welfare Fraud. Before her service with the Commonwealth, Anne spent eleven years at AAA Central Penn Automobile Club, where she supported the Sales Department with the same level of professionalism and dedication. Her exceptional shorthand and transcription abilities were widely recognized and admired amongst her peers and family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward John Cupko, and her nine siblings and their spouses: brothers, Joseph (Mary), Michael (Vickie), Vid (Mary), Frank, and John (Phyllis) Roseman; and sisters, Kate Roseman, Mildred Turpel, Sophie (Francis) Lacovic, and Bernadine Roseman.

She is survived by her loving children: David Cupko and his companion, Maria Cline, Diane and her husband, William, Baker, and Jeffrey Cupko with Laura Powles.

Anne was a cherished grandmother to Patrick (Amy) Baker, Shari Erb, Angela (Will) Kenyon, Ryan (Xinzhu) Cupko, Sean Cupko and Ashley (Charlie) Winn, and Jennifer Ingram. She was also blessed with six great-grandchildren: Kirk and Emmett Baker, Dalton and Austin Erb, Axel Cupko and Avery Winn, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

Affectionally known as “Nanny” to her family, Anne loved playing the organ and took lessons for many years. She found great joy in bus trips, shopping, dancing to polka music, and church festivals. She also loved teaching her grandchildren about their Croatian heritage and language, and was especially fond of playing patty-cake with the little ones. Anne was truly the heart of her family – and her family was her heart.

Her care has been entrusted to Buhrig Funeral Home in Mechanicsburg.

Family and friends will be welcomed on Saturday, August 2, from 10:30-11:30 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 410 Simpson Street, Mechanicsburg, where she was a member for more than 50 years. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will follow at 11:30 am, and will be officiated by her nephew, Reverend Lawrence Lacovic, Senior Priest, Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown.
