Arthur "Luke" Lucas Carr

Arthur “Luke” Lucas Carr, age 64, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Brandywine, MD, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024.  Luke was born on Friday, May 15, 1959, in Layton, UT to Stuart “Johnny” “Whitey” Kinsey Johns Carr Jr. and Caroline (Youngdale) Miller.  Luke is preceded in death by his brother, James “Sam” Samuel Carr; his sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Carr.

 

Luke’s survivors include his wife of 31 years, Sandra “Sandy” René (Taylor) Carr; his daughter, Taylor Lynn Carr of Washington, D.C.; his parents: Stuart “Johnny” “Whitey” Kinsey Johns Carr Jr. and his wife, Barbara, of Brandywine, MD, Caroline (Youngdale) Miller of Savannah, GA; his two siblings: Susan “Susie” (Carr) Clifton and her husband, Keith, of Mechanicsville, MD, Philip “Gene” Eugene Carr and his wife, Cheryl, of Brandywine, MD; his three nieces: Emily Turner and her husband, Jeff, Patricia Windsor and her husband, Donald, Amy Alejandro; several great nephews and a great niece; and his beloved pets: Casanova, Griffin, and Louie.

 

He was a Green Bay Packers fan. He also enjoyed restoring classic pickup trucks and hiking on the Appalachian Trail.

 

All are welcome to join Luke’s family at his viewing on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:30 p.m. at Buhrig Funeral & Cremation, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Reverend George Spangler officiating.  Guests are encouraged to be casual and comfortable.  Burial will follow the service in Mechanicsburg Cemetery in Mechanicsburg.  Luke’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at Buhrig’s Gathering Place (next to the funeral home) immediately following the Burial.
