Betty Mae (Pifer) DelPopolo

Betty Mae (Pifer) DelPopolo, age 64, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Parsons, West Virginia, passed away peacefully at home while surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, August 31, 2022.  Betty was born on Saturday, March 29, 1958, in Kingwood, West Virginia to the late Clyde Chester Pifer and Jeckie Arvita (Jones) Pifer.  In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her two brothers, Roger Pifer and Dale Pifer.

Betty’s survivors include her husband of 18 years, Donald “Don” Michael DelPopolo; her two daughters: Melissa “Missy” Mae Isner of Parsons, West Virginia; Arvita “Veeda” Dawn Keplinger and her husband, Justin, of Thornton, West Virginia; her three grandsons: Hunter, Wyatt, Robby; her brother, Chester Pifer and his wife, Sis, of Norton, West Virginia; her sister, Norma Costello and her husband, Bud, of Kingwood, West Virginia; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved canine companion, Bubba.

Betty retired from the New Cumberland Army Depot.  She was previously a cook at Cortland Acres Nursing Home in Thomas, West Virginia, an in home care worker at the Tucker County Senior Center in Parsons, West Virginia, and a former Girl Scout leader in West Virginia.  Betty loved to travel.  She enjoyed visiting new places and returning to her home in West Virginia.  In her spare time, Betty liked to make crafts, color pictures, sew, and tend to her flower garden.  Always a happy and loving person, she took great joy in both hosting and attending family gatherings.  Betty’s presence will be truly missed by all who knew her.

Betty’s family will be celebrating her life privately.  Cremation was private.
