Blanche Frances Johns

Blanche Frances (Derwin) Johns, age 94, of Mechanicsburg, died on Saturday, May 10, 2025. Blanche was born on Thursday, June 26, 1930, in Plymouth to the late James Derwin and Anastasia (Bonesky) Derwin. Blanche was the widow of Thomas “Tommy” Joseph Johns, whom she married on August 28, 1952, and who died on September 22, 2022. In addition to her parents and husband, Blanche is preceded in death by her son: Thomas Todd Johns.

Blanche’s survivors include her two granddaughters: Amanda Johns and her spouse Taylor Harris, of Camp Hill, Nicole Johns of Mechanicsburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Blanche graduated from Larksville High School as part of the class of 1948. For many years, she attended St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, where she was a member. Blanche found enjoyment in various activities, including sewing, watching Wheel of Fortune, staying connected with family through Facebook on her iPad, and gardening. Cooking for her family during the holidays was another pleasure. Additionally, Blanche valued her close bond with her home health nurse, Kylie.

All are welcome to join Blanche’s family at her viewing on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:30 a.m. at Buhrig Funeral & Cremation, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. Burial will follow the service in St. John’s Cemetery, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050.
