Brad Allen Heckelman
Brad Allen Heckelman, age 67, of Mechanicsburg, passed away unexpectedly in a single vehicle automobile accident thought to be caused by a sudden medical event on Wednesday, November 9, 2022. Brad was born on Tuesday, March 29, 1955, in Portage, MI to Mable Arlene (Chase) Heckelman and the late Max Eugene Heckelman. In addition to his father, Brad is preceded in death by his brother, Bruce Heckelman.
Brad’s survivors include his wife of 34 years, Linda Mary (Barnett) Heckelman; his four children: Rodd Heckelman and his wife, Marianne, of Chula Vista, CA; Amber Heckelman and her husband, Shoraun Chowdry, of Langley, BC; Kyle Heckelman and his wife, Jennifer, of Frederick, MD; Justin Heckelman of Riverdale, MD; his six grandchildren: Elijah Heckelman, Jazmin Heckelman, Noah Heckelman, Nina Chowdry, Joseph Heckelman, Maya Chowdry; his mother, Mable Heckelman of Kalamazoo, MI; his sister, Bonnie Birdsall and her husband, Mike, of Kalamazoo, MI; his sister in-law, Pam Heckelman of Portage, MI; and several nieces and nephews.
Brad Heckelman graduated from Portage Central High School as part of the class of 1973 and later from San Diego City College with an Associate’s Degree in Business. Brad retired from HikVision USA on October 31, 2022 as a Senior Regional Sales Manager, after 42 years of service in the industry. Brad was a lifelong lover of all things outdoors where he enjoyed hiking, fishing, kayaking, boating, and spending long days on the beach with his wife Linda. Other hobbies included spending time with his kids and grandkids, playing golf, tending to his many indoor and outdoor plants, and following his favorite sports teams.
All are welcome to join Brad’s family at his gathering of family and friends on Monday, November 28, 2022, from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., and to also join them for his service beginning at 12:30 p.m,. at Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Celebrant Patti Vogl officiating. A private reception at Buhrig’s Gathering Place (next to the funeral home) will immediately follow the service.
