Bruce Lawrence Boger, who had a smile that brightened any room he was in, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2026. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, and his smile will be missed. Born on August 13, 1946, in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, Bruce lived a life marked by service, commitment, and a profound love for family and community.
Bruce was an alumnus of Northern Lebanon High School, where he graduated in 1964. Following his education, he served honorably in the United States Navy aboard the USS Baya (AGSS-318), embodying the values of discipline and patriotism. His military service was a source of great pride throughout his life, complementing his lifetime membership in the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).
Following his time in the Navy, Bruce embarked on a lifelong career as a truck driver, a profession in which he dedicated 30 years and traveled over one million accident-free miles. His career was not just about miles driven but about the countless stories, friendships, and memories forged on the road.
Bruce’s passions extended beyond his career. He was an avid golfer, participating faithfully in his Wednesday Golf Group, and he found a great joy in fishing—both freshwater and saltwater—and had a deep affection for boats. These hobbies were not mere pastimes but cherished parts of his life, reflecting his love of nature and camaraderie.
Bruce’s family was central to all that he was. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nanette Gwendlyn (Cortright) Boger, whose death preceded his by only three weeks, and his sister Patricia (George Spencer) McGugin. His parents, Lawrence and Beatrice Boger, also preceded him in death.
Bruce leaves behind a loving and extensive family who will continue to honor his memory, including his sons Robert (Holly) and Derek (Beth). He was a devoted grandfather to Adam, Andrew, Elizabeth, Kevin, Autumn, and Jonah, who brought immeasurable joy to his life. His great-grandchildren Faith, Parker, Skie, Rozlyn, Theodore, Annabelle, Caleb, and Noah were the latest blessings in his family tree.
Bruce is also survived by siblings Luann (Scott Bicksler) Brandt and Lawrence (Karen) Boger.
