Carl Gordon Boyer, 72, of Mechanicsburg passed away on April 17, 2024, at his residence. He was born on September 18, 1951 in Harrisburg, PA, only child of the late William and Sylvia (Laycock) Boyer.

Carl is survived by his wife of 50 years, Wendy (Myers) Boyer; daughter Lindsay M. Robb (Travis), daughter Kelly S. Taylor (David) and son David A. Boyer (Sarah); 5 grandchildren – Mason and Dylan Taylor and Hannah, Freya and Aila Robb.

Carl graduated from Trinity High School and then went on to get a degree in geology from Franklin and Marshall College. Carl started his career in geology doing exploration logging off the Gulf of Mexico. After a brief time in Louisiana, Carl returned to Central PA, where he worked for several different firms and then started his own business in 2007. In 2010 he became a partner in an engineering firm until his retirement in 2017.

Carl was a DIYer and enjoyed working on household projects. He loved driving and going on road trips. Summer was his favorite time of year, taking pride in working on the yard or just basking in the sun. He was passionate about music, almost exclusively 60’s rock and always The Beatles. He loved spending time with his family, especially family vacations at the beach.
