Carol Elaine (Niesley) Rohrer

Carol Elaine (Niesley) Rohrer, age 82, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023.  Carol was born on Wednesday, February 26, 1941, in Mechanicsburg to the late Myron B Niesley and Elsie Mae (Lyons) Niesley.

Carol’s survivors include her husband of 62 years, Richard “Dick” Larry Rohrer; her son, Curt R. Rohrer and his wife, Lisa, of Mechanicsburg; her daughter, Jamie L. Shover and her husband, Lonnie, of Mechanicsburg; her eight grandchildren: Connor, Samantha, Elena, Jocelyn and her husband, Pedro, Heidi and her husband, Gonzalo, Lilly and her husband, Zebulun, Isaiah, Faith; her great-grandchildren: Naya, Luca, Santino and one on the way; her brother, Carman Niesley of Harrisburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Carol graduated from Mechanicsburg high school, where she played clarinet in the band.  Her artistic flare was demonstrated through her sewing for the family, as well as other creative works seen throughout her home.  The personalized Easter eggs she painted for each of her children and grandchildren were special treasures, illustrating her attention to detail.

Family played a very significant role in her life, not only for her immediate family, but her extended family as well. Using her gift of hospitality, she was constantly entertaining and holding family gatherings to the delight of all.

She maintained friendships from high school through monthly luncheons.

She was a member of the Grantham Brethren in Christ Church where she participated in the grandmothers prayer chain, carrying on her parent's legacy.

She was a lover of music and sports and a sincere friend.

All are welcome to join Carol’s family at her gathering of family and friends on Thursday, April 13, 2023, from 11:30 a.m. until time of service at 12:30 p.m. at Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; and her virtual gathering of family and friends and service via video chat or telephone beginning at 12:15 p.m.; with Pastor Carman Niesley officiating.  Cremation was private.
