Carole Harne

August 24, 1934 — November 10, 2023

Mechanicsburg

Carole M. Harne, age 89, of Mechanicsburg, died on Friday, November 10, 2023.  Carole was born on Friday, August 24, 1934, in Spring Glenn to the late William R. Miller and Jennie I. (Clinger) Miller.  Carole was the widow of Edwin F. Harne Jr, whom she married on May 11, 1967, and who died on April 25, 2011.  In addition to her parents and husband, Carole is preceded in death by her brother, William Miller.

Carole’s survivors include her son: Fox E. Harne and his wife, Kim, with their daughter, Amanda, of Carlisle; and two nephews.

Carole graduated from Hubley High School as part of the class of 1952.  She retired from GMAC, after serving as an administrative assistant for many years.  Carole attended St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.  She was a member of the Carlisle Country Club.  Carole was an avid golfer, and travelled with her beloved husband to play at courses all over the world.  One of her favorite destinations was Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia.  Carole’s preferred way to travel was on a cruise, where she could relax and read her favorite romance novels. She always made time for family, and she never missed a game of Amanda’s softball career.  She will be dearly missed by those fortunate enough to have known her.

The family sends their most heartfelt thanks to Nina and everyone at Live in Care who so lovingly cared for Carole during her illness.
