Carolyn Elaine (McGuire) Holtzman
Carolyn Elaine (McGuire) Holtzman, age 75, of Camp Hill, and formerly of Johnstown, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 27, 2022, with her loving husband by her side while surrounded by other family. Carolyn was born on Sunday, January 12, 1947, in Johnstown to the late Maurice North McGuire and Mary Kathryn (Dick) McGuire. In addition to her parents, Carolyn is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Alexis Holtzman; and her great-granddaughter, Norah Sourbeer.
Carolyn’s survivors include her husband of 33 years, Patrick “Pat” Thomas Holtzman; her four children: Mary Kay Tkacs and husband, Bill, of Mt. Holly, NJ, Anita Aveni of Camp Hill, Mickey Sourbeer and husband, Mitch, of Pequea, Patrick Holtzman II and wife, Becky, of Coulterville, IL; her eight grandchildren: Brandon Holtzman, Amber Wiltz and husband, Matt, Sean Aveni, Devin Kempfer, Steven Sourbeer and wife, Lyta, Brian Sourbeer, Kaylee Holtzman and Ashton Holtzman; her five great-grandchildren: Jayden Wiltz, Arianah Wiltz, Jaxon Sourbeer, Logan Holtzman and Holden Sourbeer; her three siblings: Shirley Duffield and husband, Frank, of Tarpon Springs, FL, David McGuire of Bedford, Debbie Moore and husband, Ron, of South Fork, and sister Barbara Curry, of Seward; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved canine companions: Calamity and Rebound.
Carolyn attended Franklin High School, class of 1966. She was employed with the Pennsylvania Turnpike and retired from Highmark Blue Shield in Camp Hill. In September 2012, Carolyn proudly received her certification as an Emergency Medical Technician and responded to emergency calls with the Lower Allen Emergency Medical Services. She was a member of the Lisburn Community Fire Company and was currently serving as the Lower Allen Township Commissioner at the time of her passing. Carolyn was an avid supporter of the Paralyzed Veterans of America. She had a passion for fishing, gardening and swimming but nothing compared to the time she spent playing card games with her grandson Sean, who lovingly referred to her as Mommysmom.

Carolyn’s family will be remembering her life privately. Interment in Oak Cemetery in Johnstown will be at the family’s convenience. Cremation was private.
