Charles “Chuck” Edwin Watts, age 85, of Dillsburg, died on Thursday, October 23, 2025. Charles was born on Sunday, September 1, 1940, in Harrisburg to the late John Edward Watts and Edna Irene (Vaughn) Watts. Charles was the widower of Sarah Marie (Snyder) Watts, who died on February 4, 2006. In addition to his parents and wife, Charles is preceded in death by his daughter: Tina M. Derr; and his five siblings: Mildred Rinehardt, John Watts, George Watts, William Watts, and Sarah J. Watts.
Chuck’s survivors include his granddaughter: Micailyn M. Derr of Dillsburg; his four siblings: Calvin Watts, Robert Watts, Leroy Watts, Kathryn Smith; and his son-in-law: Ronald Derr, Jr.
Chuck’s retirement from Northern School District marked over 35 years of dedicated service as a janitor. Throughout his tenure, he cultivated a strong rapport with the students, who would fondly remember him years after graduation. Chuck’s passion for country music was evident in his admiration for Hank William, Sr., Johnny Cash, and 50’s country musicians.
His love for dogs, particularly beagles and hounds, was also well known. Chuck’s personal interests included walking, exploring the countryside, and appreciating nature. He was deeply committed to his wife and reveled in spoiling his granddaughter, Micailyn.
All are welcome to join Chuck’s family at his viewing on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Buhrig Funeral & Cremation, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. Burial will follow the service in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
