Curtis “Curt” Lee Plowman

A Role Model for his Family -

Curtis “Curt” Lee Plowman, age 84, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Altoona, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2022.  Curt was born on Thursday, November 4, 1937, in Altoona to the late Harry Lenard Plowman and Mary Emma (Delozier) Plowman.  In addition to his parents, Curt is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Simone Henninger; his three brothers: Harry, Charles, Ronald and Vincent Plowman; and his two sisters: Rita Crum and Regina Tate.

Curt’s survivors include his two children: Beth Ann Plowman and husband, Norbert Henninger, of Kennett Square, Michael Curtis Plowman of Dillsburg; his two grandchildren: Justine Rose Henninger and North Kelso Henninger; his two brothers: Wayne Plowman of Connecticut and Blaine Plowman of Duncansville; his sister, Patricia Geist of Altoona; and several nieces and nephews.

Curt made an early mark on the football field in Altoona, Pa. and went on to play at the University of Pittsburgh.  He was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and made a career in pharmaceutical sales.  Curt was happiest when fishing, golfing and bowling.  He loved trout opener and smallmouth bass fishing with his son.  He was an enormous influence in the lives of his children and grandchildren - passing on his delight for birding, gardening and travel.

All are welcome to join Curt’s family at his gathering of family and friends on Friday, April 29, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. until time of his celebration of life service at 3:00 p.m. at Buhrig’s Gathering Place, 25 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, (717) 766-3421 (next to Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory); and his virtual gathering of family and friends and service via video chat or telephone beginning at 2:45 p.m.; with Celebrant George Spangler officiating.  Over 100 parking spaces are available; just look for the “Buhrig” parking signs in all of the parking lots.  Cremation was private.
