David Eugne Talton, Sr., age 69, of Newport, passed away on Monday, August 6, 2025. David was born on Saturday, September 10, 1955, in Harrisburg to the late Howard Talton, Sr. and Aleen (Christian) Talton. In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Jordyn and his two brothers: Howard “Junior” Talton, Jr. and Michael “Mike” Talton.
David’s survivors include his wife of 32 years, Donna Marie (Weaver) Talton; his three children: Nincolle Graver and husband, Dennis, of Mechanicsburg; David Talton Jr. of Mechanicsburg; and Michael Talton and wife, Elyse, of Newport; his eight grandchildren: Taylor, Tara, Troy, Jackie, Jarrod, June, Ava, and Wyatt; his great-grandson: Liam; his five siblings: Paul Talton of Dillsburg, Robert Talton of New Brockton, AL, John Talton of Mechanicsburg, Barbara Brenizer of Dillsburg and Susan Wilson of Newville; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved feline companion: Captain Jack.
David graduated from Harrisburg High School as part of the class of 1973. He worked as a baker for the Stroehmann Bakeries and other bakeries for many years. David loved his cat Captain Jack and spent hours watching the squirrels and other wildlife through his window. He was an ardent Penn State Football fan and enjoyed spending time on the streams fishing. David lived life on his terms and did not compromise for anyone. He had a tough shell, but those rare smiles let you glimpse the warmth radiating inside. David was a proud grandfather and cherished the time that he spent with his grandkids.
