Donna Jean (Lauchle) Scotto, age 67, of Mechanicsburg, was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 13, 2025. Donna was born on Saturday, September 21, 1957, in Muncy to the late Eugene Lerue Lauchle and Esther Alma (Springman) Lauchle.
Donna’s survivors include her husband, Joseph Nicholas Scotto; her two sons: Curtis Scotto of Mechanicsburg, Travis Scotto and wife Heather, of Camp Hill; her brother: Curtis Lauchle and wife Terri, of Muncy; and many nieces and nephews.
Donna graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Tennessee Temple University after completing high school. She was a member for many years at Immanuel Church. Donna was a beloved 2nd grade teacher for 14 years after college. She then jumped between numerous careers after teaching whether it be a waitress, news paper delivery, house cleaning, or coffee host. No matter which job Donna worked, everyone knew her bright personality and servants heart.
Donna was an avid cook and dinner host. She took pleasure in reading and keeping herself busy. Donna was always active by cycling or walking on a daily basis. Donna's passion in life was maintaining her flower gardens. Her favorite flower was the stargazer lily, but she truly loved any and all flowers.
Donna was the definition of a caregiver. She wore her heart on her sleeve, and would help anyone who asked. She loved and cared for her parents, dedicated a life time's worth of effort to raising her sons, cherished her husband, and was looking forward to being able to spoil grandkids someday.
Donna struggled with Osteoporosis for years. Two years ago she had a series of compression fractures in her spine. She developed severe Kyphosis which restricted her lung capacity. In the summer of 2024, Donna spent 6 weeks in New York City preparing for surgery to fix her spine. Ultimately, Donna and her family were not comfortable with the risks of the surgery and the recovery to pursue. Sadly, her body could not keep up with her respiratory challenges.
Those who were blessed to have known Donna will miss her dearly. While we mourn her loss, we rejoice knowing that she is redeemed with the Lord.
