Dorothy “Dottie” Loretta (Snyder) Wolfe, age 86, of Shiremanstown died on Wednesday, October 28, 2026. Dottie was born on Tuesday, February 27, 1940, in Harrisburg to the late Charles E Snyder Jr. Dorothy (Bomgardner) Snyder. Dottie was the widow of Charles “Charlie” Raymond Wolfe Jr., whom she married on March 8, 1968, and who died on December 21, 2025. In addition to her parents and husband, Dottie is preceded in death by her daughter: Michelle Loper and sister Donna Kile.
Dottie’s survivors include her four sons: Earl “Randy” Randall Kinsey and his wife Susan of Mechanicsburg, Michael “Scott” Scott Kinsey and his wife Kim of Mechanicsburg, Andrew “Tom” Thomas Kinsey of Shiremanstown, Dr. Charles “Chuck” R. Wolfe III and his wife Kaylyn of Mechanicsburg, her seven grandchildren: Jessica Gregg, Heather Kinsey, Nathan Kinsey, Madison (Kinsey) Wagner, Grayson Kinsey, Tristan Wolfe, Carly Wolfe; her six great-grandchildren; her two sisters: Carole Loughery (Charlie) and Linda Panichello (Michael) and several nieces and nephews.
Dottie graduated from Enola High School as part of the class of 1958. She retired from Highmark Blue Shield in 2010 after many years of service working as a customer service representative. Dottie had a passion for the special Olympics. She was an athlete parent, but also served as chaperone, event organizer, and coach. Dottie primarily worked with the bowling events due to her experience participating in a bowling league of her own, but served with other events as well. She always found ways to make holidays special, from decorations to the traditional singing of jingle bells as Santa left a sack of gifts on the porch for her sons to bring in. Dottie enjoyed the backyard wildlife around her home, keeping the bird and squirrel feeders well stocked all year round. She cared deeply for her family, and her sons fondly recall the time she rode in the family station wagon from Pennsylvania to Florida with five boys and her husband. Dottie will be dearly missed by those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
