Dorothy “Dottie” Jane (Armold) Fogle

Dorothy “Dottie” Jane (Armold) Fogle, of Bethany Village, and formerly of Silver Spring Township, passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2022.  Dottie was born on Saturday, July 4, 1931, in Perry County to the late Charles R. Armold and Blanche (Leonard) Armold.  Dottie was the widow of Robert A. Fogle, whom she married on November 30, 1952, and who died on September 18, 2014.  In addition to her parents and husband, Dottie is preceded in death by her brother, Charles L. Armold; and two sisters: Aletha Olsen and Betty Steverson.

Dottie’s survivors include her son, Robert L. Fogle and wife, Lynn, of Paola, KS and their two children: Lauren Fogle and Carlyn Locascio and husband, Kevin, along with their three children; her daughter, Linda K. Dudley of Fountain Hills, AZ and son-in-law, Richard Dudley, and their children: Kamryn Dudley and Rustin Dudley; her sister, Lotus Morris and husband, Larry, of Carlisle; and many nieces and nephews and their children.

Dottie was kind and nurturing, and like so many moms and grandmas from the Greatest Generation, she was devoted to her family, including being a beloved mother-in-law.  Her four granddaughters’ achievements and chosen paths were a constant source of pride.  She loved the girls with all her heart.  A sentiment which was mutual.  She was a talented seamstress and a terrific cook.  Her recipes are flung far and wide to family and friends across the U.S.  To this day, some of her “family-famous” dishes are on restaurant menus.

Dottie’s family will be remembering her life privately.  Burial in St. John’s Cemetery in Mechanicsburg will be at the family’s convenience.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in celebration of Dottie’s life can be made to Hospice of Central PA (HCP), 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110, www.hospiceofcentralpa.org/index.php/get-involved/ways-to-give.

Dottie’s family has entrusted her care to Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory in Mechanicsburg, (717) 766-3421.  Read Dottie’s full obituary, offer condolences and sympathy, share stories and memories, upload photographs and videos, light a candle and sign her official guest book by visiting Buhrig.com.
