Jun 23, 1939 — Jun 22, 2026

York Springs

He was born in Dillsburg PA in 1939 to James Bosserman Sr and Grace Bosserman. James attended Bermudian Springs High school before joining the Airforce and then the Army where he continued for 22 years.

James was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Bosserman and brother John Bosserman and is survived by his brother David and two sisters Sarah and Susan, his three children Jonathan Bosserman, David Bosserman and Tracie Leachman, his son in law Bill Leachman, along with his 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

He enjoyed building model boats and puzzles. During retirement he spent his days on his riding mower constantly mowing his grass. He was known for always being in a suit for Sunday mornings and in his signature bib overalls all other times.

James, affectionately known to family, friends, and neighbors as “Pappy.” A proud veteran, he often shared memories of his time in the military, recounting stories filled with humor, courage, and lessons learned. Those who listened to him speak could feel the pride he carried for his service to his country and the bonds he formed along the way. Pappy could bring the past to life with vivid detail and warmth. His tales connected generations, preserving memories and traditions that will live on through those who heard them. He never met a stranger and had a gift for making people feel welcome. His wisdom, laughter, and countless stories enriched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him. Though Pappy’s voice is now silent, the memories he shared and the lives he touched will endure for generations. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.

His service will be held at Daybreak Church, 321 Gettysburg Pike, Mechanicsburg on June 27, 2026 at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Ron O’Neil and Pastor Ed Roman officiating.
