James "Jim" Edward Miller

Mechanicsburg

James “Jim” Edward Miller, age 101, of Mechanicsburg, and passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2024.  Jim was born on December 19, 1922, in Evanston, IL to the late James Edison and Celia Hagen Miller. Jim was the widower of Yvonne (Brown) Miller. In addition to his parents and wife, Jim is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Hagen Miller and son-in-law Warren Bull.

Jim’s survivors include his two children: Barbara M. Bull of New Freedom, PA, James “Jim” Eric Miller and his wife Jacque L. Hansbrough of Leesburg, VA; his five grandchildren: Christine Hilferty, Catherine Bull, Susanne Bull, Eric Miller, and Andrew Miller; and his four great-grandchildren: Jake Hilferty, Jordan Hilferty, Noah Webster, and Jack Webster. 

Jim graduated High School from Leelanau Academy in Traverse City, Michigan.   He attended Michigan State University prior to joining the U.S. Navy in 1942.  Lt. JG James Miller was a proud veteran of WWII having served in the Naval Air Corp and Radar Service. He worked for AMP Inc. for 47 years retiring as Director of their Coaxial and Fiber Optic Divisions. He was a resident of Camp Hill for 46 years and Bethany Village for 20. He was an elder at Camp Hill Presbyterian Church, a 30-year member of Rotary Club and a member and former Director of West Shore Country Club where he played golf for 50 years.  In his retirement, Jim did wood carving of birds and was very active in the Bethany Community.  He will be dearly missed by those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
