Loved Everyone -

Joan Marie (Mehaffie) Wagner age 77, of Lemoyne, and formerly of Harrisburg passed away peacefully at home while surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, June 23, 2022.  Joan was born on Sunday, February 18, 1945, in Harrisburg to the late Thomas Leon Mehaffie and Pauline Marie (Steward) Mehaffie.  Joan was the widow of Roy D. Wagner, whom she married in October of 1963, and who died on June 4, 2002.  In addition to her parents and husband, Joan is preceded in death by her sister, Carol Houtz.

Joan’s survivors include her three daughters: Joann Schoppert of Lemoyne; Tina Shultz of Lemoyne; Brenda Boone and her husband, Rudy, of Camp Hill; her four grandchildren: Ryan Mosher, Justin Schoppert, Amanda Ecenrode, Courtney Shultz; her two great-granddaughters: Michele Schoppert, Olivia Mosher; her two siblings: Thomas Mehaffie, Jr. and his wife, Joan, of Pitman; Nancy Daniels of Camp Hill; and several nieces and nephews.

Joan was an outgoing, people person, who loved everyone.  After retiring from The Woods at Cedar Run, Joan kept up her social life by frequenting the West Shore Senior Center, where she really enjoyed taking Zumba classes.  She had an affinity for gardening and never came across a flower that she didn’t like.  Most of all, Joan adored her family; especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She loved family gatherings, picnics and getting together to play games.  Joan will be dearly missed.

All are welcome to join Joan’s family at her viewing on Friday, July 1, 2022, from 10:30 a.m. until time of service at 11:30 a.m. at Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Reverend David J. Schreffler officiating.  Joan’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at Buhrig’s Gathering Place (next to the funeral home) immediately following the service.  A graveside service and burial will follow the reception in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Harrisburg.
