Joan Ruth (Henninger) Yarlett

Joan Ruth (Henninger) Yarlett, age 87, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2023.  Joan was born on Thursday, March 14, 1935, in Coaldale to the late Leighton Henninger and Ruth (Reese) Henninger.

Joan’s survivors include her husband of 39 years, Earl Eugene Yarlett; her son, Timothy “Tim” Gasper of Mechanicsburg; her daughter, Jody Sparmblack and her husband, Lee, of Mechanicsburg; her granddaughter, Kimberly “Kim” Marple and her husband, Dan, of Midland, MI; and her two great-grandchildren, Collin and Evelyn Marple.

Joan was a cat lover, a proud nurse both in the office and in the hospital and she became a licensed pilot in her 40’s.  She enjoyed flying small aircrafts and was a member of Civil Air Patrol for over 15 years.  Joan was a strong and determined woman.  She beat Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and was a proud survivor for over 30 years.  Joan will be deeply missed.

Joan’s family will be celebrating her life privately.  Interment in Mechanicsburg Cemetery in Mechanicsburg will be at the family’s convenience.  Cremation was private.
