John R. Taitague, age 78, of Shiremanstown, died on Sunday, May 25, 2025. John was born on Thursday, November 28, 1946, in Agana, Guam to the late Gergorio Taitague and Maria (Duenas) Taitague. John was the widower of Bernadette (Cruz) Taitague, whom he was married to for 47 years. In addition to his parents and wife, John is preceded in death by his brother, Greg Taitague and his sister, Orpha Mantanona.
John’s survivors include his son: James Taitague of Shiremanstown; his grandchild: Ryan James Taitague; his great grandchild: Reo Taitague; his four siblings: Joseph Taitague, Fred Taitague, Julie Flood, and Priscilla Awisato; and several nieces and nephews.
John graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in Guam. He retired from the US Army as a Chief Warrant Officer II after serving his country for 27 years. John was an avid fan of all sports and enjoyed watching them on TV. Above all else, John loved spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed by all those fortunate to have been in his life.
John’s family will be remembering his life privately. Interment in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville will be at the family’s convenience.
