Joyce had a beautiful and sassy personality.

Joyce Elaine (Johnson) Capp, age 82, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Dillsburg and New Kingston, died on Thursday, August 20, 2026. Joyce was born on Thursday, July 13, 1944, in Dillsburg to the late Smith Johnson and Helen (Peterman) Johnson. In addition to her parents, Joyce is preceded in death by her beloved son: Michael Robert Guschel.

Joyce’s survivors include her husband of 54 years, Ronald “Jim” James Capp of Mechanicsburg; and her honorary daughter Elizabeth “Liz” Snyder and her husband Dan of Shade Gap.

Joyce worked for 40 years as head secretary and office manager for the founder of Rite Aid Corporation.

Joyce loved Classic Cars along with car shows and auto racing. Her favorite car is a Mustang. She also loved as was extremely gifted at decorating, especially Christmas. She loved sparkles, decorated the most beautiful Christmas trees you could ever imagine. She enjoyed action adventure books, movies and shows. Enjoyed home decorating and cooking shows, baking, golf and her favorite store was Hobby Lobby.

Joyce had a beautiful and sassy personality. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mom and honorary momma she will be forever in our hearts and is already missed tremendously.
