A Special Lady -
Joyce Eileen Wood, 73, of Camp Hill , and formerly of Harrisburg , died at Golden Living on Friday, November 1, 2013. She was born in Mechanicsburg on Tuesday, October 1, 1940, daughter of the late C. Boyd Wood and Mary Mae (Keeney) Wood.
Joyce’s survivors include her loving siblings, Gerald B.Wood and his wife Martha of Dallastown, Kenneth E. Wood and his wife Patsy of Mechanicsburg, Janet M. Wright of Frederick; and several nieces and nephews. Among those preceding Joyce in death is her sister, Claribel L. Rosenberger.
Joyce graduated from Cumberland Valley High School as part of the class of 1958. She was a good student and a very proud member of the Cumberland Valley Eagle Marching Band. Joyce was an employee of Olmstead Air Force Base in Middletown. She loved jigsaw puzzles and was quite adept at completing them.
All are welcome to join Joyce’s family at her visitation on Friday, November 8, 2013, from 2:30 until time of her memorial service at 3:00 at Myers–Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, with Pastor Richard G. Lorenz officiating. Cremation and burial will be private and at the family’s convenience. The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, 2 Lemoyne Drive, Suite #101, Lemoyne, PA 17043.
