Norristown

Katharine Elizabeth Omohundro, beloved sister, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2025, at 3:28 PM, surrounded by love and held in memory by all who knew her. She was 66 years old.

Born on March 28, 1959, Katharine was a gentle and radiant presence in the lives of so many. A proud graduate of the Mechanicsburg Public Schools, she went on to pursue her passion for caring for others by earning her degree in nursing from York College. Throughout her life, she dedicated herself to the field of healthcare — first as a devoted nurse and later as a skilled healthcare administrator. Her work was marked by empathy, intelligence, and a sincere desire to help others heal.

In high school, Katharine brought grace and teamwork to the Rainbow Girls Drill Team, an experience she cherished and often recalled with pride. She carried that same spirit of camaraderie and sparkle into every room she entered. She loved Drum & Bugle Corps shows with The Crossmen and Garfield Cadets. Throughout her life Kathy also loved live music and theater and treasured concerts by Kenny Loggins, Billy Joel, Chicago and Earth Wind & Fire. She also loved the books about Winnie the Pooh and had a poster on her wall of Winnie the Pooh.

Katharine’s love of life was vibrant and varied — she was an avid tennis fan, a lover of classic films, and a curious traveler, always eager to explore the world around her. Whether she was watching an old movie, packing for a new destination, or catching a great match, she embraced life with quiet enthusiasm and an open heart.

Those who knew Katharine will remember her most for her uniquely sharp and witty observations, her warm sense of humor, and the gentle sweetness that flowed through everything she did. She had the rare gift of making people feel seen, understood, and safe in her company. She was, quite simply, a beautiful and sensitive soul — the kind the world needs more of.

Katharine is deeply missed and lovingly survived by her brothers Mark and Todd Omohundro, as well as by her extended family, including her cherished Roys and Raynor cousins. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and care — qualities that will live on in the hearts of everyone blessed to have known her.

As we say goodbye for now, we honor Katharine’s life by remembering the joy she brought, the compassion she gave, and the love she quietly carried. May her spirit soar free and her memory always be a blessing.

“There are some who bring a light so great to the world, that even after they have gone, the light remains.”

We love you, Katharine. Always.
