Ken Richards

Ken Richards, age 71, of Camp Hill, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023.  Ken was born in Pittsburgh to the late Richard W. Richards and Myrtle L. (Maurer) Richards. In addition to his parents, Ken is preceded in death by his two siblings: Wayne Richards, and Barbara Richards.

Ken’s survivors include his wife of 46 years, “Beth” (Huntsinger) Richards; his two sons: John M. Richards and wife, Ashlee, of Carlisle, Michael W. Richards and wife, Amanda, of Boise, ID; his three grandchildren: Olivia Richards, Ryan Richards, Adelynn Richards; his three siblings: Jim Richards and wife, Joanna, of MD, Mark Richards and wife, Lynne, of Hummelstown, “Patty” Conner of Mechanicsburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Ken graduated from Cumberland Valley High School as part of the class of 1970 and attended Harrisburg Area Community College.  Over the years Ken worked for several construction companies in various positions.  He began his career in home construction with Park Hills West, Inc. in Camp Hill and later worked for many years as an estimator for Shaffer & Son in Hershey.  Ken proudly served in the United States Navy.   He was an avid reader, who enjoyed history books and National Geographic magazine. Ken enjoyed cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State football teams. He was best described as a man who enjoyed the simple life and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  Ken will be dearly missed by those fortunate enough to have known him.

Ken’s family will be remembering his life privately.  Interment will be at the family’s convenience.  Cremation was private.
