Lawrence “Larry” John Kostelac Jr

Lawrence “Larry” John Kostelac Jr, age 85, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2023. Larry was born on Friday, October 8, 1937, in Steelton to the late Lawrence John Kostelac Sr and Dorothy (Tarbuck) Kostelac.

Larry is survived by his loving wife, Deanna Marie (Sadler) Kostelac who shared his life for 65 years. Survived also, by his 4 children: Larry David Kostelac of Lemoyne; John Michael Kostelac of Enola; Christina “Chris” Lynn Getz of Mechanicsburg; and Nicholas “Nick” Mark Kostelac of Mechanicsburg, and four grandchildren; Jessica Getz, Matthew Kostelac, Nevin Kostelac, Nathan Kostelac.

He served his country in the United States Marine Corps, a duty for which he was very proud.  He enjoyed working with his hands in construction and the last 35 years of his life he dedicated to his family at East Coast Contracting, Inc. in New Cumberland.

Larry (aka Tiny) was an avid hunter, birdwatcher, and outdoor enthusiast simply enjoying the natural world around him. He read mysteries, studied history, and followed world events; but mostly he made friends enjoying jokes and banter.

In recognition of his USMC service, Larry will have a military service at Fort Indiantown Gap, July 18th at 9:30AM with his ashes inurned at that time. All are welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Larry’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Toys for Tots program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve as ending the suffering of children held a special place in Larry’s heart.
