Leah "Beck" Autumn-Shayne Murphy
Leah “Beck” Autumn-Shayne Murphy, 18, of Marysville, passed away suddenly on Friday, August 12, 2022. Beck was born in Harrisburg, PA to Dawn L. (Page) Murphy and Joseph T. Murphy, III. She was known by friends and family as Beck because she had plans of legally changing her name to Rebecca. Beck had just graduated from PA Cyber High School and had plans of attending culinary school. She didn’t believe that she was “smart” enough to attend college to do what she really wanted to do, which was help people through counseling and therapy, but she was wise beyond her years. Beck always helped those around her, whether it was through her bubbly personality or her genuine words of wisdom. She managed to be a ray of love and light to all who knew her, despite her fiery attitude. Most of her free time was spent on the internet trying to pick up new crafts or hobbies, or singing Broadway show tunes with her sister. Beck dreamed of getting to fly to Australia to finally meet her long time best friend/partner, Katy; they had plans to take on the world together. Beck was also a life-long animal lover and had begged for pets from various species, including but not limited to: pigeons, ducks, birds of all kinds, lizards, snakes, raccoons, rabbits, hamsters, pigs, monkeys, and most of all, a baby goat. Her family takes peace in knowing that one of her greatest wishes will be fulfilled by being an organ donor and going on to help others get a second chance at life.
In addition to her parents, Beck is survived by her partner/soulmate, Katy Waring; her sister/best friend, Hannah Murphy; her aunt/second mom, Karen Page; and her cat/son, Manny. She is also survived by her paternal grandparents, Judith K. (Sheffer) Murphy and Joseph T. Murphy, Jr.; her maternal step-grandmother, Cathy M. (Antle) Page; her two aunts and their families, Laura Sterling and her husband, Nate, and Christina Moyer and her husband, Wayne; as well as several cousins.
