Lester "Wayne" Wayne Seiler, Jr., age 74, of Merrillville, Indiana and formerly of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2026. Wayne was born on Thursday, March 20, 1952, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to the late Lester Wayne Seiler, Sr. and Angeline (Frank) Seiler. In addition to his parents, Wayne is preceded in death by his two brothers, Paul Stillions Jr. and wife Mary, and Raymond Seiler.
Wayne’s survivors include his sister: Barbara Cooke and husband, Charles, of Merrillville, Indiana; his nieces and nephews: Matthew and wife, Heather, Shawn, Jerry Lee, David, Larry, Melissa, and Jeremy; his great nieces: Tamerlane, Enola, and Isla; and his beloved canine companion: Gypsy.
Wayne will be remembered as a man who genuinely enjoyed being around people. He liked going for drives, visiting the mall to people-watch, and sitting on the front porch to greet those passing by. Those simple moments reflected his warm and welcoming nature and the pleasure he found in everyday life. Wayne also enjoyed listening to the radio and spending quiet time watching movies on television. Westerns and classic horror films were among his favorites, and John Wayne was his favorite actor. His favorite western movie was El Dorado, a film he no doubt returned to with special enjoyment over the years. He also loved horses and dogs, which brought him much happiness. Travel was another part of Wayne’s life. He often traveled to Florida to visit Matthew and his family, and he also journeyed to many other places with Charles and Barbara. These trips brought him time with people he cared about and memories that will be treasured. He leaves behind the memory of a life marked by simple pleasures, affection for others, and a sincere enjoyment of the world around him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
