On June 21st, 1947, she married the late Wayne H. Silvis, who preceded her in death on February 20th, 1993. Together they shared more than forty-six years of marriage.
She was a resident of St. Marys, PA until 1997 when she moved to Mechanicsburg, PA to be closer to her family, especially three of her grandchildren who she loved more than life. She was a retired employee of Powder Metal Products retiring in 1990 after twenty-five years of service.
Our mother was the backbone of the family who showed us how to face challenges with courage and grace. She had a way of making everything feel okay—whether it was with a home-cooked meal, or her quiet, reassuring presence. There was strength in her softness, and wisdom in her silence. Though we now walk without her hand in ours, we carry her lessons and unwavering love in everything we do. The world is dimmer without her light, but we are lucky to have been loved by her.
She is survived by three sons, Doug (Jeanie) from Mechanicsburg, PA, Scott (Tammy) of Magnolia, TX and Randy (Charlene) of West Chester, OH. She also is survived by four grandchildren, Kyle (Jess), Kara (Gerry), Kelly (Dylan) and Randy Michael (Melissa); five great grandchildren, Callum, Sullivan, Jake, Sydney and Emily. She is also survived by her niece Lynanne (Brian) and their two sons (Andrew and Cameron) and her nephew Mark (Sallie).
She was preceded in death by two daughters Peggy Ann in 1969 and Patricia Lee in 2019 and by two grandsons Tyler James and Joshua Wayne.
