Margaret “Peggy” Louise (Williams) Ford

A Woman of Lifelong Faith -

Margaret “Peggy” Louise (Williams) Ford, age 81, of Carlisle, and formerly of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2020.  Peggy was born on Tuesday, August 16, 1938 in Ashland to the late Gomer Tugwell Williams and Ethel Mae (Karbley) Williams.  In addition to her parents, Peggy is preceded in death by her brother, Ronald L. Williams; her sister, Ethel Ann (Williams) Butterfield; and her son-in-law, Darby E. Enck.

Peggy’s survivors include her three children: Lynn M. Enck of Churchtown, Deborah “Deb” K. Yarnot and her husband, David, of Etters, Terry L. Ford, II and his wife, Kimberly, of New Cumberland; her six grandchildren: AJ Enck, Kathryn Yarnot, Daniel Yarnot, Andrew Enck, Dylan Ford, Shelby Ford; her great-granddaughter, Sophia Borley-Mitchell along with a great-granddaughter on the way; her brother, Gomer “Bobby” Robert Williams of Lacey, WA; her former spouse, Terry L. Ford of Boiling Springs; and several nieces and nephews.

Peggy graduated from John Harris High School as part of the class of 1956.  She retired from the Cumberland County Treasurer’s Office in Carlisle, after many years of service working as a clerk.  Peggy was a woman of lifelong faith who last attended Churchtown Church of God.  She was formerly a member of the Cumberland County Council of Republican Women and strongly encouraged people to vote.  Peggy had a wonderful smile, a feature that reflected her kind heart and always pleasant demeanor.  She was an excellent cook and baker.  Everything Peggy made was delicious but some of her best dishes were apple pie, spare ribs, and scalloped potatoes.  She adored animals, especially cats, and even though Peggy was allergic she enjoyed having them around.  The thing she loved the most were her kids and her family; Peggy will be missed dearly by all of them.

Services are to be announced at Churchtown Church of God, 351 Old Stonehouse Road South, Boiling Springs, PA 17007.
