Mark A Rowe, 67 of Mechanicsburg, PA passed away on May 29, 2026. Mark was born on September 2, 1958 in Harrisburg, PA to the late Herbert Rowe and Mary Jacqueline (Watts) Straining.
Mark attended Greenwood High School in Liverpool, PA. After his high school education, he held work positions at Capital Bakers, Stroehmann Bakery, Chambers Trash Company, St. Thomas Creation, and retired happily from the Mechanicsburg School District as a head custodian in 2022.
Mark was an avid fan of NASCAR and his favorite driver was Bill Elliott and then his son, Chase Elliott when Bill had retired. Mark absolutely loved camping from the time he started in a tent, then to a pop-up camper, and finally to a full-size camper in which he enjoyed spending time with his loving wife Sharon, children, and grandchildren. He had always talked about his 1972 metallic flake blue Dodge Charger he once owned and was very into classic cars. Alabama was his favorite all-time band and it’s one of the only bands you would ever hear him sing along to. Most importantly, Mark thoroughly enjoyed spending his time with his family. He loved and enjoyed the fact that his children and grandchildren would come over to his and Sharon’s home almost every weekend to spend time together and embrace each other with love, fun, food, and games.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents Herbert, Mary “Jackie”, and step-father “Bob”. He was also preceded in death by his first-born daughter Jennifer Lynn and brother Herbert Jr. “Butch”.
Mark leaves behind his beloved wife Sharon, in which they married on October 11, 1986, brother-in-law Roger, Leo and wife Tina. His children, JR and daughter-in-law Tonya, Jillian and son-in-law Mike, Crystal, Kayla and son-in-law Brandon. He leaves behind grandchildren Kasey and fiancé Derek, Kody and wife Courtney, Madison, Bianca, Taylor, Trevor, Ryan, Olivia, Skylar, Jaxxon, and Ava. He was so close to being a great grandpa to Kasey and Derek’s daughter Scarlett due in mid-June. He also leaves behind his siblings Kathy, Gary and wife Virona, Bobby and wife Melissa, and Doug. Nieces and nephews Geneva, Chris and wife Jess, Joe, and many others.
Mark was loved by many, and many were loved by Mark. From family to numerous co-workers and friends, his presence and life will not be forgotten. If you ever had the pleasure to meet this wonderful man, he definitely made a “Mark” on your life. Truth be told.
