Mary (Flaherty) Dellinger, age 77, of Carlisle, and formerly of Buckeye, AZ, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2026. Mary was born on Monday, July 26, 1948, in Worcester, MA, to the late Edward Flaherty and Marie (McDonough) Flaherty. Mary married the love of her life, Anthony “Tony” Francis Dellinger, on August 9, 1969. They were happily married for 48 years until his death on November 7, 2017.
Mary was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved traveling with her husband and friends with Cape Cod, Massachusetts, having a special place in her heart, often catching sand crabs with grandkids, showing her many friends the hidden gems, and shopping for jewelry in downtown Wellfleet. She was a lifelong educator, eventually becoming a reading specialist serving the Big Spring School District. She loved all the wonderful friends she and Tony made in their active retirement community in Buckeye, Arizona. She was always up for a walk with friends, a swim in the pool, or her favorite: a trip to get salted caramel ice cream.
Mary’s survivors include her two sons: Bryan Dellinger and his wife Lisa, of Carlisle, Jason Dellinger of Carlisle; her three grandchildren: Anthony, Wesley, and Clara; her three sisters: Cathy Kalb, Paula Barbin and her husband Bill, and Roberta Parla; her sister-in-law: Josie Dellinger; and several nieces and nephews.
All are welcome to join Mary’s family at her viewing on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. at Buhrig Funeral & Cremation, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Reverend Chiedozie Ononuju and Reverend George Spangler officiating. Mary’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at Buhrig’s Gathering Place (next to the funeral home) immediately following the service. Burial will follow the reception in Cumberland Valley Memorial Garden in Carlisle.
