Michael C. Blake, a devoted husband and father and invaluable source of inspiration and support to his children and countless men and women in the region’s recovery community died peacefully Sept. 22 at his Camp Hill home. He was 79.
Mike is survived by Jayne, his wife of 30 years; his daughters, Carrie Iverson and her husband, Andy; Maggie Keithley and her husband, Troy; and Hannah Blake; son, Maximilian Blake, granddaughter, Abby Iverson; sister, Carol Blum, Godchildren Philip Costabile, Jr. and Mellisa Merson and several nieces and nephews. Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Councell Adam Blake and Margaret Agnes Blake, and brothers Bill, Bob and Pat.
The Blake family-owned Blake Cadillac Oldsmobile, a cornerstone of the Harrisburg community shaping Mike’s lifelong passion for luxury cars and nice shoes. Mike’s real impact extended far beyond the dealership. His true success is his children and his legacy in recovery. A trusted friend and resource to countless people, Mike was known for his reassuring signature line he would share with men and women of any age: “Hey, kid, you’re going to be alright.”
