Holly Springs; Kathleen Susan Nolan of Enola, Brian Michael Nolan and wife, Amelia, of Harleysville; his five step-children: Kimberly Kay Riordan and husband, Robbie, of Conneaut Lake; Nicole Marie Henry and husband, Bill, of Newville; Eric Lee Kantz and wife, Marcy, of Meadville; Zachary Andrew Christopher Holbrook and partner, Michael Wang, of Nyack, NY; Joshua Oliver Stanley Holbrook and wife, Eileen, of Carlisle; his nine grandchildren: Corey Adam Riordan of Conneaut Lake, Kyle Benjamin Riordan of Cochranton, Chelsi Nicole Rhoades of Harmony, Braeden Scott Kantz of Meadville, Carmen Marie Kantz of Meadville, Jaden Michael John Barner of Mt. Michael graduated from Valley Stream North High School as part of the class of 1969, from New Hampshire College in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science degree, and received his Masters of Business Administration from the University in Florida in 1987.  Michael retired from the United States Navy as a Lt. Commander after 20 years of service and later retired from PHEAA in Harrisburg, after 18 years of service working as an Assistant Vice President of School Relations.

Michael will be remembered most for his warm smile, great sense of humor, and for how deeply he cared for those around him. He was one of the friendliest, most dependable people you could ever meet. It’s no wonder that Michael easily made lasting friendships and seemed to know someone wherever he went.

What Michael loved most in life was his wife, Karin, and their family. He would say that his greatest accomplishment was his children and was happiest when his family was gathered and laughing together during Sunday dinners, holidays, and summer vacations in Sea Isle City, NJ. He was a proud and devoted grandfather who loved each one of his grandchildren beyond measure and never wanted to miss an opportunity to support what they were passionate about.
