Richard “Dick” Dean Hoover

Richard “Dick” Dean Hoover, age 80, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Lancaster, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, October 24, 2022.  Dick was born on Thursday, February 19, 1942, in Greencastle to the late Warren Samuel Hoover and Mary Elizabeth (Glass) Hoover.  In addition to his parents, Dick is preceded in death by his son, Andrew Hoover; his daughter, Aileen Hoover; his sister, Dorothy Mann; his brothers: Robert Hoover and William Hoover; and two infant brothers.

Dick’s survivors include his wife of 54 years, Darinda “Dorrie” (Mrowinski) Hoover; his daughter, Marie (Hoover) Maxwell and her husband, David, of Mechanicsburg; his two grandsons: Brandon and Dean Maxwell; his brother, Larry Hoover of York; his sister, June Churchey of Chambersburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Dick’s family will be remembering his life privately.  Cremation was private.
