Robert “Bob” Charles Weakland

Robert “Bob” Charles Weakland, age 65, of Mechanicsburg, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, October 19, 2022.  Bob was born on Saturday, May 11, 1957, in Harrisburg to the late John M. Weakland and Vivian S. (Shetron) Weakland.

Bob’s survivors include his two daughters: Ashley Weakland of Monte Vista, CO; Courtney Young of Mechanicsburg; his two grandchildren: Mason Weaver and Grace Young; his brother, Scott Weakland and his wife, Peggy, of Carlisle; his sister, Janice James and her partner, Dale Glacken, of Mechanicsburg; his three nieces and two nephews; and his beloved feline companion, Buddy.

Bob graduated from Mechanicsburg High School as part of the class of 1976.  He was employed as a dock worker for YRC Freight in Carlisle for many years.  Bob was a member of American Legion Post 109 – Mechanicsburg and Teamsters United 776.  He enjoyed traveling, loved the beach, most especially Ocean City, MD, and he never missed an opportunity to go to the casino with friends.  Bob was a history buff and liked to visit Gettysburg frequently.  He also enjoyed watching football and cheering for the Baltimore Ravens.  Bob loved music and developed quite an extensive cassette tape collection over the years.  An avid Corvette fan, he attended the Corvettes at Carlisle car show every year.  Above all else, Bob loved his family.  He doted on his grandchildren and loved spending time with them. Bob will be deeply missed.

Bob’s family will be remembering his life privately.  Cremation was private.
