Roho Lowell Warfield

February 8, 1931 — March 4, 2024

Mechanicsburg

Roho Lowell Warfield, age 93, of Mechanicsburg, died on Monday, March 4, 2024, at Messiah Lifeways on the 10-year anniversary of his beloved wife’s death.  Roho was born on Sunday, February 8, 1931 on his family farm in Elizabethville, PA to the late Franklin Dallas Warfield and Meda C. (Bohner) Warfield.  Roho was the widower of Doris Mae (Donbaugh) Warfield, whom he married on August 6, 1954 and who died on March 4, 2014.  In addition to his parents and wife, Roho is preceded in death by his siblings: Delmar Warfield, John Warfield, and Grace Clouser.

Roho’s survivors include his children: Donna Kabadi and her husband, Vinayak, of Greensboro, NC; R. Dan Warfield and his wife, Sandy, of Mechanicsburg; his grandchildren: Ami Kabadi, Ryan Warfield, Alyssa DiNatale and her husband, Anthony DiNatale, Shila Kabadi, and Neel Kabadi; and his great-grandchildren: Nash, Shreya, and Elsie.

While growing up, Roho contributed financially as much as possible to benefit his family: he lived and worked on the neighbor’s farm to earn money, he and his friend, Bob, would take off from school to dig graves, and he worked on the dairy farm at the State Hospital in Harrisburg, among other jobs.  Immediately upon graduation, Roho entered the U.S. Armed Forces and then joined the U.S. Air Force after it was formed. He was stationed at various locations across the globe, from Alaska to Germany to Okinawa.  In between deployments, he met and married Doris “Punkie” Donbaugh, and they had two children, Donna and R. Dan, who were the apples of their eyes. Roho was lucky to find a wife who offered unwavering support and took charge during his military absences. After he retired from the military, he held various jobs: working for the U.S. Postal Service, owning/running a Texaco gas station, and repairing farm equipment at International Harvester and engines at Montgomery Ward.  Prior to his final retirement, he worked at the Army War College's golf course in Carlisle.  As mentioned above, Roho leaves behind his two children and their spouses, Vinu and Sandy whom he thought of more like his own children than in-laws, along with his grands and great-grands.

Roho valued his family and his country above all else, and he especially loved family gatherings that featured lots of delicious food! He will be remembered not only for his friendly smile but as a gentleman of honor and integrity by all who knew him, and he will be dearly missed by those who were fortunate enough to have known him. Roho's family especially wants to thank our dear friend, Yelena, who lovingly and sweetly cared for Roho in his home prior to his move to Messiah Lifeways.  She will always be a member of our extended family. Additionally, the family wants to specifically thank all of those special people at Messiah Lifeways who cared for and interacted with Roho--you know who you are. Boop, boop!
