Ronald “Ron” Lester Peck, age 86, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2022.  Ron was born on Monday, August 12, 1935, in Elliottsburg to the late Domer Donald Peck and Edna Jane (Swab) Peck.  In addition to his parents, Ron is preceded in death by his two sons: Gregory and Mark Peck; and his brother, Ray Peck.

Ron’s survivors include his wife of 66 years, Shirley Louise (Shelley) Peck; his daughter, Pamela “Pam” Sue Debinski and husband, Craig, of Mechanicsburg; his three grandsons: Gregory Lucas and wife, Maryann, of Camp Hill, Jesse Debinski and wife, Jennifer, of Enola, David Debinski and wife, Jane, of Edmonton, AB, Canada; his seven great-grandchildren: Joki, Kamden, Haley, Chariah, Izaias, Kelsey and Jamin; his four great-great-grandchildren: William, Benjamin, Greyson and Naomi; his brother, John Wiles, and wife, Linda, of Landisburg; his sister in-law, Donna Peck; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved poodle, Christy.

Ron graduated from Green Park Union High School as part of the class of 1954.  He then went on to work for MacKee Vending.  After leaving MacKee Vending, Ron went to work for Purina until his retirement. Although he enjoyed retirement, Ron still wanted something to keep himself busy, so he went to work at the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Mechanicsburg, where he assembled bicycles and many other items.  Ron was a longtime active member of Enola First Church of God, where he served as treasurer for 25 years, as a former deacon, and on the church board and builder committee.  Growing up on a small farm in Elliottsburg, Ron learned to be a hard worker at a young age and continued to be one throughout his entire life.  In his spare time, he could be found cheering on his Pittsburgh Steelers or hunting small game and deer.  Ron also loved collecting antiques.  He would buy and sell them, and had his own store.

All are welcome to join Ron’s family at his viewing on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, from 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. with a service beginning at 12:00 p.m. all at Enola First Church of God, 9 Sherwood Drive, Enola, PA 17025; with Pastor George Jensen officiating.  Ron’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at his church immediately following the service.  Honored to be pallbearers are Gregory Lucas, Jesse Debinski, David Debinski, Craig Debinski, John Wiles and Randall Miller.  Private burial will be in the Elliottsburg Cemetery.
