Ryan S. Bair

February 7, 1987 — October 8, 2025

Mechanicsburg

Ryan S Bair, 38, of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2025 at Hershey Medical Center after an arduous battle with a brain tumor. Ryan was surrounded by the love and comfort of his family and dear friends who kept vigil in his final moments and throughout his challenging four-month journey.

Born on February 7, 1987, in Marysville, he was the son of Melanie Black (Ronald). Ryan graduated from Susquenita High School and dedicated his career to operations management. Ryan worked at FedEx Ground as both an Operations Manager and Training Specialist.

Latesha Bair (Nailor) has been his sweetheart since they were teenagers. From the moment they met, it was clear that they had found something rare. She was his anchor and his refuge from life’s wicked storms. She was more than a partner – she was Ryan’s heart, his home, and his constant source of strength. Together they shared a love that was laced in humor, hard work, and endless compassion. They had the kind of love that leaves an imprint on everyone who witnessed it.

Ryan’s greatest joys were his children, Quentin and Olivia. He cherished his role as a father and poured his heart into every moment he spent with his children – cheering from the sidelines, offering guidance, and celebrating life’s victories, both big and little, together. Nothing brought him more happiness than being their dad – every laugh, game, and milestone were his greatest rewards. Ryan’s motto was “family first,” and he ensured that Tesha, Quentin, and Olivia felt this through his actions every day. His first statements after surgery were to inquire about Quentin’s Cumberland Valley Boys' Volleyball score, and to ensure that Olivia’s travel plans to Italy were still on target.

Ryan was deeply involved in local youth sports as a coach and referee. He was a lifelong sports enthusiast who loved every moment spent on the field, in the stands, or cheering on his favorite teams – the Cowboys and the Braves. A true sports fanatic, he lived for the thrill of the game – the teamwork, the challenge, and the pure joy of competition. His enthusiasm was infectious, inspiring those around him to play hard, cheer louder, and love the game as much as he did. He knew every statistic for every single game – completely obsessed! If he was not playing sports, he was coaching or refereeing his son and their friends’ games. He was a staple on the soccer field, and his community will remember him for being incredibly fair.

Ryan approached life with the same determination he showed for aiming for a perfect game. He was an avid bowler on his beloved team "Schweddy Balls" with family and friends, where so many laughs and memories were made. Ryan has bowled his final frame, but the memories are a perfect score.

His obsession was not reserved for just sports, as he was obsessed with grocery shopping too. This was a hobby and a passion he enjoyed alongside his daughter. He took pride in this role, and no one could take over this weekly ritual that he cherished. Ryan also had great love for playing cards and could never say no to a board game. Competition was in his blood, and his siblings and cousins reaped the rewards of fun banter and sarcasm along the way.

Ryan will be remembered for his fierce sense of competition, his deep love of sports and community, and his incredibly witty and sarcastic style. He will be fondly remembered for caring deeply, always putting family first, and for sprinkling kindness amongst all he encountered.

He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Latesha Bair (Nailor); their children, Quentin and Olivia; his parents, Melanie Black (Ronald) and Tina Tocco (John); his siblings, Sarah Black (Brian), Timothy Black, Ashley Lopez (Chris); his father and mother in law Joe Nailor and Sue Gerhard; his brother in laws Taylor Heisey (Amanda), Stephen Nailor (Tara), Shane Henson(Regan), and Zac Henson; his nephews Christopher, Johnny, Trenten, and Theo. He leaves behind a large and loving extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins who will treasure his memory.

A celebration of life will be held at Buhrig Gathering Place on October 24th, 2025, from 4 pm to 7 pm with a service at 5 pm. Family and friends are invited to gather at the service to share memories and condolences.

Ryan’s legacy is one of love, passion, and leadership – a life well-lived, a heart well-loved, and a spirit that will never fade from the community he helped build.
